It's a historical fact that we in Missouri know how to turn defeat into an unexpected victory. That's what just happened as heavy rains brought flood waters that closed many Missouri roads, but one man rose above it all thanks to his kayak.
I saw this super-short, but fun video shared by Kat McKanna on YouTube. It's Route W in Missouri which was one of the many roadways underwater after up to 10 inches of rain drowned much of the state earlier this past week. It's one man claiming victory over nature in his handy kayak.
No, this video does not change the world, but it is one of those fun moments in Missouri when we overcome obstacles. Just like David Freese in game 6 of the World Series in St. Louis in 2011, this man knew how to rise above a desperate situation and win.
