Video Reveals Emerald Jumping Spider in Northern Missouri

Even if you despise and/or fear spiders, you'll have to admit that this little guy is a cutie. An emerald jumping spider was just captured by a video as the tiny fellow was lurking about in northern Missouri.

I saw this just shared today on the Missouri sub-Reddit. It's a video that was shared revealing a very unique spider you don't see every day. It's an Emerald Jumping Spider.

Are Emerald Jumping Spiders Rare or Dangerous to Humans?

I have seen more than my share of spiders in Missouri in my lifetime, but have never spotted one of these green arachnids. What I did not realize is this is a spider that hunts other spiders, but doesn't spin a web. They have incredible sight which gives them advantages over other spiders and food sources. The good news is they are not venomous or harmful to humans. That doesn't mean I'd like to hold one or have one as a pet, but at least you don't have to fear these pretty spiders.

While you don't see them often due to how quick their movement is, they're not rare. Jumping spiders including this emerald guy are common throughout much of the country and especially the Midwest.
