Elderly Missouri Man Rescued from Icy Creek by Good Samaritan
It was an accident that could have ended tragically, but thanks to a Good Samaritan an elderly man in Missouri was rescued after his vehicle slid into an icy creek in Clay County.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office shared this detailed description providing the backstory for what you're about to see:
It was 37 degrees out when deputies were dispatched to an 81-year-old man who'd accidentally driven off of 33 Highway and was stuck in an icy creek about 12:30 p.m. Nov. 17, 2022. The temperatures didn't stop them from jumping in to help. You'll see video here from two different deputies' body-worn cameras. And thank you to Good Samaritan Quintin Conway, who saw the man run off the road, called 911, tried to pull him out before we arrived and then helped us pull him onto the creek's banks.
Thanks to Quintin's fast action, the man was pulled to safety. You can see how he helped the deputies thanks to their body cam videos. There's a good reason why this is trending on Yahoo News.
If you're not familiar with the area, Clay County is in the northern part of the Kansas City metropolitan area.
This is just another example of a human being who could have chosen to not get involved, but did. Thanks to Quintin Conway's heroic effort, this 81-year-old man will have more time with his family. This is the type of story we need more of in the world.
