Watch and Listen to Yet Another Huge Bobcat on Illinois Trail Cam
Illinois is not known as big cat country, but perhaps it should be. There's a trail cam in Illinois that has captured video of yet another huge bobcat including the crazy sound it makes as it wanders by.
Close Encounter Predator Hunts on YouTube doesn't specify exactly where in Illinois this big bobcat was spotted only that it was "another giant Illinois bobcat". This is a very big putty tat. NOTE: make sure your sound is turned up. You'll maybe thank me later.
Are bobcats common in Illinois?
The short answer is yes, bobcats are native to Illinois so they aren't rare in that regard. It is rare to see one, however, as they are solitary animals that avoid human contact whenever possible.
Are bobcats dangerous to humans?
If cornered, a bobcat can and will attack to defend itself. One man found this out the hard way as he not only encountered a bobcat, but one that is confirmed now to have rabies.
The good news is bobcats avoid humans in Illinois, but you need to be aware they are very common in the southern half of the state which is heavily-wooded. That means if you're enjoying the great outdoors in that part of Illinois, know you're in the native territory of a very fierce predator who doesn't like to be surprised.
