Fortunately, this flash flood event happened in the middle of the night, but can you imagine if you had insomnia and decided a late night/early morning stroll was a good idea? Anyone caught in those waters during that 40 to 50 minute period would have been swept up in life-threatening flood water. I can attest to the fact that water is more powerful than you think. I made the mistake of trying to wade across what I thought was a shallow river only to barely get out without being swept under. You might think you're invincible, but the truth is different than what you imagine.
