It's amazing that Al Capone stories continue to be told a century after his era in Illinois. There's new video of a mansion in Illinois that bordered Lake Michigan that was rumored to have been connected to Capone as one of his secret hideouts.

If you enjoy the exploration of abandoned places in Illinois and the Midwest in general, this is why I recommend following obsoleteVoids on YouTube. Several things to mention here. First, as she mentioned in her video exploration, there's nothing on paper that proves that illegal activities happened in this Illinois mansion. Second, you can't visit it because it has been demolished since her exploration of the place. While there's no concrete proof that Al Capone spent time in this place, it was new and active during his era in the Chicago area from 1919 through 1931 and the design of the home is unusual. The structure with many hidden areas would have been ideal for Capone and his cronies and the backdrop of Lake Michigan likely would have appealed to him also. It's impossible to know for sure that Capone had a history in what used to be his Illinois mansion, but the circumstantial evidence is interesting.
