The Ideal Old Town Missouri Christmas Is Closer Than You Think
The word is getting out about how Hannibal, Mo. does Christmas, and for those wanting to experience the appeal of America’s Hometown, this time of year is extra special.
Hannibal embraces Christmas in its’ own way with many unique events and special takes on the Christmas events you’d expect all within the setting of a Hallmark movie.
The traditional lighting of the Christmas tree happens around the Mark Twain old fashioned birthday party for kids at the Boyhood Home Gardens. The Victorian Festival of Christmas lights up historic downtown Hannibal each weekend. A Christmas parade of floats and vehicles rolls through downtown each Christmas season, plus the “Feztival of Trees” on north Main Street has themed gifts surrounding various decorated trees. If you time your visit right you can see the shop windows alive with Christmas displays scenes brought to life by local children.
You’ve always imagined what a magical old town Christmas was like. Now is your chance to live it out in Hannibal.
