A dark house in St. Louis, which became popular in a movie, is one of the many reasons why Missouri ranks among the top 10 in the nation for being the most haunted.

The house is the Ronald Doe house, but you may know it through a famous movie called The Exorcist one of the scariest movies of all time (in my opinion anyway). According to detailed investigation records, Ronald Doe was reportedly possessed by a demon, leading to a priest being called in to perform an exorcism.

The house still stands today and many paranormal groups and visitors come to see where the inspiration for the popular movie took place.

Travel Channel ranked Missouri, tied with Maine &Massachusetts, 8th among the 50 states as the most haunted. It's more than the Doe House, and Lemp Mansion, a famous tourist town Branson also is one of the many reasons MIssouri lands high on the list.
