A Quincy restaurant is getting a major shoutout from an award-winning chef for having some of the best donuts he’s ever tasted.

Andrew Zimmern’s Sweet Stop in Quincy

Award-winning chef and Travel Channel host of Bizarre Foods, Andrew Zimmern, made an unexpected stop in Quincy last week. He later took to his Facebook page to rave about Yummy Donuts, calling them the best donuts he’s had in four years.

Yummy Donuts: What Makes Them Special

Zimmern described the donuts as light, fluffy, and incredibly delicious. He also tried the apple fritter (which happens to be my favorite!) and couldn’t stop talking about how packed it was with apples.

Normally, we see Zimmern traveling the world eating some of the strangest and most exotic foods, so watching him get excited over something as simple and local as a donut is both refreshing and pretty funny.

He’s not the only famous chef and TV host to make a stop in Quincy. Maid-Rite was also featured on Feasting on Asphalt, hosted by Alton Brown. The show explored the history of classic road food and highlighted unique local restaurants and their cuisine.
