According to the website thediscover.com, Branson, Missouri is one of the 5 U.S. Cities with Holiday Spirit to Spare. The other cities on this list with Branson are New York City, Franklin (Tennessee), Beaufort (North Carolina), and North Pole (Alaska). So what about Branson makes it belong on this elite list of cities? On the site they say...

"Deemed “America’s Christmas Tree City”, Branson, Missouri might be the Christmas capital of the United States...The Silver Dollar City Christmas Lights display is home to 1,000 Christmas trees and over 6 million lights to tour through. Even Dolly Parton’s Stampede gets in the spirit with appearances by Mr. and Mrs. Claus themselves...or pay a visit to Chateau on the Lakes’ gingerbread village, made with over 300 pounds of sugar."

To be on the same list as New York City when it comes to holiday spirit is a huge accomplishment for the Vegas of the Midwest. New York City I would argue is the most Christmas(y) city in the world, with all the Christmas movies set in NYC, and the New Years' Eve celebrations. I have never been to Branson but now I have to try and figure out how to plan a trip there in the Summer and during the Holidays.
