According to a ranking from shaneco.com, St. Louis, Missouri is one of the 10 best cities in the US for Dive Bars. St. Louis ranks 8th on the list behind San Fransico at number one, followed by, Hartford (Connecticut), Tampa, New Haven (Connecticut), Cincinnati, Cleveland, and New Orleans. On the site they say...

I will say that I don't doubt that every single city on this list has great dive bars...BUT...I think this list is phony... Here is why...

In order to be a great dive bar no one can know about you. So taking "Yelp" reviews as a large part of your data and research is inherently wrong for creating a list of dive bars in my opinion, if it were a list of high-end cocktail bars, then yes Yelp reviews would matter. The only way to find a great dive bar is through word of mouth in your local neighborhood, and this list only focuses on the largest cities, some of the best of the best dive bars are in smaller populated areas. What do you think of the list?

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
