3 of Yelp’s Top 100 Taco Spots are in Illinois
Illinois may not be located anywhere near Mexico but that doesn't mean that you can't get some really great tacos in the Land of Lincoln. According to Yelp, 3 of the top 100 taco places in the country are here in Illinois...
Yelp has a list of the Top 100 Taco Spots in America, and Illinois has three restaurants in the top 100! Obviously, the list is dominated by restaurants in states like California, which has the number 1, 2, and 3 spots on the list, and Texas which has 2 spots in the top 10 as well as a bunch of others.
The three restaurants from Illinois on the list are #22 Edgewater Tacos, #28 Del Seoul, and #94 Quesabirria Jalisco Tacos. It is great to have three restaurants from Illinois on the list, sadly though for us in Central Illinois all three of these terrific Taco spots are located in the Windy City of Chicago.
On the Yelp page for Edgewater Tacos, which opened in 2018, they say...
"Traditional aromatic Mexican dishes for their guests. We proudly serve Vegetarian, Vegan and gluten free foods. Embark on your own journey..."
Now we hear in Quincy, Illinois are lucky because we have great places to get a taco like El Racherito, but our neighbors to the west in Missouri should be a little offended by this Yelp list because there are NO restaurants from Missouri on the list of the 100 Best Taco Spots in America, which is just so hard to believe...
