A 13-year-old Chicago boy is being held in a juvenile facility on charges he shot three teens.

The boy, unidentified because of his age, is charged with three counts of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.

The Cook County state's attorney office says the judge found probable cause to hold the boy for trial and determined he should be removed from his family. The family's attorney refused to comment on Wednesday's ruling.

Authorities say the 13-year-old was among a group who approached three teens as they stood on a street corner.

The 13-year-old pulled a gun and started shooting. A 14-year-old and a 17-year-old were shot in the head and are hospitalized in critical condition. Another 14-year-old was shot in the leg and hospitalized in stable condition.
