CASA of Adams County is recruiting volunteers to begin training Monday, February 3, 2014. The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers speak for the best interest of abused and neglected children in the court system.

No prior experience is required. Volunteers receive 30 hours of training prior to case assignment. Training includes courtroom procedures, working with social service agencies and the special needs of abused and neglected children.

Training is free with training manuals and materials provided. Trainings are Monday and Thursday for five weeks February 3 through March 10, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  The training group will accommodate up to ten (10) applicants. This is the only training planned for 2014.

Anyone interested in learning more about the CASA program and training are encouraged to attend an informational program on Thursday, January 16 at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room at the Advocacy Network for Children office at 531 Hampshire, 2nd floor.
