A Milton Illinois woman faces shoplifting charges in two separate incidents on Wednesday.

Quincy Police say they were called to Wal-Mart at 11:26 Wednesday morning. Store loss prevention officers say 53 year old Kathleen Carter tried to walk out of the store with around 800 dollars worth of merchandise after passing the last points of sale. Police say Carter was charged with felony retail theft and released on a notice to appear.

Quincy Police say they were called to K-Mart at 3:56 p-m by store employees for an adult female in custody. Police arrived to find Carter. The police report says she is suspected of trying to steal approximately 70 dollars in merchandise. Carter was booked at the Quincy Police Department and released after posting cash bond. Carter is scheduled for a January 5th court appearance on both charges.
