The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for northeast Missouri and western Illinois from 6 p.m. Tuesday through 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Forecasters say that mixed precipitation is expected, with ice accumulation from freezing rain up to a tenth of an inch. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.

The weather service says that the ice will result in difficult travel conditions, and motorists should be prepared for reduced visibilities at times.

Officially, the advisory is for Audrain, Knox, Lewis, Marion, Monroe, Pike, Ralls and Shelby counties in Missouri and Adams, Brown and Pike counties in Illinois.
