An extended power outage in Hannibal following the storm on May 20 made shopping for basic necessities in Hannibal a bit difficult. Some residents report having had difficulty in buying groceries because so many businesses were without power and closed.

Immediately following the storm, the Dollar General store on Market Street was the only business in Hannibal that sells groceries and every day items that had power. Walmart, Walgreens and County Market were all reopened by Wednesday, following the storm that hit on Monday night.
