A couple of weeks ago, we posted some of our preferred Christmas songs and the artists who perform them.

First, as an addendum to that, I would add the group Straight No Chaser's version of 'The Twelve Days of Christmas.'

Now, the purpose of this blog is what Christmas songs you would make it a point NOT to include on your playlist.

Now, honestly, I can't think of any songs that I would say, "Oh please, please, don't make me listen to that again!" That said, there are a handful of Christmas songs that I wouldn't include on my playlist.

One would be Elmo & Patsy's, 'Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer.' And yes, I understand that Elmo (Dr. Elmo Shropshire) has been laughing all the way to the bank since 1979.

I probably also wouldn't include the Barking Dogs' 'Jingle Bells'

...or the Chipmunks' 'Christmas Don't Be Late.'

And don't forget 'Santa's Stuck Up in the Chimney.' If for no other reason, kids could hear the song and be traumatized for life.

I'm sure you've probably got your own list of Christmas songs that are like fingernails on a blackboard. So, what say you?
