A hit and run traffic crash Monday night results in the arrest of a West Point man on a variety of charges.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office got a report of a hit and run crash just after 7 p.m. Monday.

An investigation revealed that 51 year old William “Stacy” Meeks was southbound on County Road 850 just north of Sutter when his car allegedly sideswiped another vehicle and left the scene.

Meeks was taken into custody at his home in West Point after a brief altercation.
