The heaviest snowfall of the season struck northeast Missouri and western Illinois over the weekend.

National Weather Service officials say snowfall totals Saturday and Sunday ranged from two inches to the south and east of the immediate area up to eight inches in Lewis County. The Hannibal Filter Plant reports five-and-a-half inches of snow from Saturday night through Sunday night.

Early Monday morning, Missouri Department of Transportation officials report main roads in northeast Missouri are partly snow and ice covered, with Highway 63 between Macon and Kirksville described as snow covered. In Illinois, IDOT says major routes in Pike and Adams counties have patches of ice and snow, with Hancock County roads snow and ice covered.
