After a near-perfect late summer weekend weather-wise, this last full week of summer begins with a bit of a warm up for northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

National Weather Service forecasters say skies will be sunny at least through midweek. High temperatures are on the way up, with highs of 83 Monday and Tuesday, 85 Wednesday and 88 Thursday. With the chance of rain comes a drop in temperatures, with high predicted to only hit 82 Friday and 77 Saturday and Sunday.

Lows will also climb and then fall again for the week. Temps are expected to drop to the low 60s Monday and Tuesday, rise through the mid 60s to around 70 Wednesday and Thursday, then drop back to the low 60s Friday and to the upper 50s Saturday.

There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast beginning Thursday. The best chance of precip comes Thursday night through Friday night, with a slight chance again Saturday.
