There were a number of weather-related traffic crashes handled by the Missouri Highway Patrol Friday afternoon and evening.

(Louisiana) – A Louisiana teenager suffers moderate injuries in a one car crash on Highway 79 south of Louisiana at 4:05 p.m. Friday. The Highway Patrol reports 16 year old Sarah Barlow was northbound, traveling too fast for the icy road conditions. Barlow’s car slid off the road, went down an embankment and struck a tree. Barlow was taken to Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana for treatment.

(Mexico) – A Monroe City man suffers minor injuries in a one vehicle crash on an Audrain County road south of Missouri 22 at 6:14 p.m. Friday. The Highway Patrol reports 42 year old Benjamin Norvell was southbound when he lost control of his truck on the icy road. Norvell’s truck ran off the road and overturned. Norvell was taken to Audrain Medical Center in Mexico for treatment.

(Taylor) – A Sikeston, Missouri man suffers moderate injuries in a semi-truck crash on U.S. 61 south of Taylor at 3:10 p.m. Friday. The Highway Patrol reports 45 year old John Rudisill was northbound when he lost control of his semi on the ice covered road and overturned. Rudisill was taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy for treatment.

(Shelbyville) – An Emden couple is hurt in a one vehicle crash on Missouri 168 east of Shelbyville at 5:15 p.m. Friday. The Highway Patrol reports 25 year old Seth Garretson was eastbound when his pickup slid off the road, overturned into a dry creek bed and came to rest on its side. Seth Garretson and his passenger, 25 year old Nora Garretson, were taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital. Nora Garretson suffered minor injuries. Seth Garretson’s injuries were described as moderate.
