Warrensburg Woman Gets Three Years for Quincy Break-In
A Missouri woman who pleaded guilty to breaking into a Quincy museum has been sentenced to three years in prison.
An Adams County judge sentenced 31-year-old Sommer D. Young of Warrensburg, Missouri, on Monday. She had pleaded guilty last month to one count of burglary.
The Quincy Herald-Whig reports that Judge William Mays opted not to give Young probation, citing the seriousness of her crime. He ordered Young to face two years of mandatory supervision following her release from prison and to pay $85 in restitution to the museum.
Young was arrested Aug. 6 after an early morning break-in was reported at the History Museum in downtown Quincy. Young told police she broke out a window with a rock and entered.
Police found Young in the museum's basement.
