After a rainy Saturday and a cooler Sunday, the first week in June starts out cool, with warmer weather and a chance of rain later for northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

National Weather Service forecasters say Monday starts off cloudy with highs only getting to the upper 60s. Temps will be on the upgo throughout the week, topping out in the low 80s by Friday and dropping back to the upper 70s by Sunday.

Lows will drop to the mid 50s Monday and Tuesday before settling into the mid 60s the rest of the week.

The area gets a break from what seemed like constant rain through Thursday. Starting Thursday night, the chances of precip range from 20 to 40 percent through Sunday.
