(HANNIBAL)—A report of a man walking in and out of traffic at US 61 and Stardust in Hannibal Sunday afternoon results in charges against a Hannibal man.

Hannibal Police say they arrived and saw 20-year-old Austin Hatton stagger into oncoming traffic. Believing he was a danger to himself, the officer attempted to get Hatton away from the road. Hatton became combative before being placed under arrest and searched. Cans containing an electronic aerosol dusting spray were found on Hatton—police say they’re commonly used to induce a high by huffing.

Hatton is charged with resisting/interfering with arrest and possession of a mind altering substance. He was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Marion County Jail.
