QCT is searching for a large company of vocalists to fill these fantastic roles first made famous in the original comedy by Oscar Wilde. All roles are available, including those of Lady Windermere, the innocent wife of Lord Windermere who believes that people are either good or bad; Lord Windermere, the assumingly ideal husband who becomes the subject of many nasty rumors; Lord Darlington, the charming bachelor who attempts to lure Lady Windermere astray; Lord Augustus Lorton, the loveable older gentleman terribly in love with Mrs. Erlynne; Mrs. Erlynne, a fashionable and nervy woman who is determined to return to society; Mr. Dumby, the befuddled politician; Mr. Cecil Graham, a ladies’ man...and cynic; and a large array of socialites and servants who are essential to the story.

LADY WINDERMERE’S FAN tells the story of the Windermeres. Lord Windermere has a secret—and Lady Windermere thinks she knows what it may be: adultery. Although he fervently denies any wrongdoing, Lord Windermere invites his supposed lover to Lady Windermere’s birthday ball. But when Lady Windermere concocts an equally scandalous plan to leave the marriage, she unintentionally spurs a series of events that could leave them all in ruin. Overflowing with beautiful new melodies and Wilde’s signature wit, LADY WINDERMERE’S FAN is a must for those who wish to experience theatre history in the making. Performances are January 15 & 16 and will be held in the QCT Laboratory Theatre, a smaller blackbox studio space.

Auditionees should prepare a song of their choice and come prepared to learn a song from the show and to read dialogue from the script. An accompanist will be provided, so auditionees are asked to provide sheet music. Auditionees should also familiarize themselves with the script, available online. A password is required for access. Detailed audition requirements and character descriptions are available at www.1qct.org/on-stage/auditions.

This “in concert” style presentation will allow actors and actresses to perform the show with the script and score in front of them, meaning rehearsals will be minimal. The cast will not rehearse over the holidays.

“This reading is a great opportunity for those who want to be in a show but can’t make the commitment to weeks of rehearsals and memorizing lines,” said Artistic Director Brandon Thomsen. “Also, this is a chance for those new to theatre to test the waters and see what it’s all about.”

LADY WINDERMERE’S FAN is directed by Artistic Director Brandon Thomsen with music direction by Elizabeth Mannhardt.

All roles are available and all auditionees are welcome, regardless of prior experience. To schedule an audition or for password information, contact the QCT Box Office at (217) 222-3209.
