(QUINCY)—A May trial date is set for the man accused in the shooting death of Terry Williams of Quincy on January 3rd.

Vincent Carter appeared at a preliminary hearing on murder charges Wednesday. A Quincy Police detective testified that Williams was at the apartment at 219 South 11th to tell Carter to either get out or the apartment or help pay the 400 dollar a month rent. Other testimony indicated there were at total of eight people in the apartment when the shooting occurred.

Williams was shot twice in the upper chest with at .25 caliber hand gun. He was pronounced dead at Blessing Hospital a short time later. Carter has another court appearance in April
