Vehicles Recovered from Mississippi River

Recovery crews pull at least three vehicles from the Mississippi River near Alexandria following a tip.

At least two of the vehicles have Iowa license plates. Clark County Sheriff’s deputies say the vehicles were discovered Wednesday morning. Sheriff Paul Gaudette believes one of the vehicles may be related to a recent series of thefts in southeast Iowa… western Illinois and northeast Missouri. The Highway Patrol’s Water Patrol Division assisted in recovering the vehicles. At least one of the vehicles had been in the water for a short time. Authorities believe others may have been there for an extended period.
