US 54 Crash Injures Three

A two vehicle crash at US 54 and Pike County Route U at 6:55 Friday evening injures one driver and two passengers in her car.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says a car driven by 20 year old Ariel Harvey of Vandalia slowed due to an oncoming vehicle and was struck from behind by a pickup driven by 34 year old Chad Shaffer of Mexico. Troopers say Shaffer failed to notice the slower vehicle. Harvey and passengers 41 year old Rita Cunningham and 45 year old Charles Cunningham were taken to Pike County Memorial Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Ariel Harvey was taken to Pike County Memorial with minor injuries.
