A Quincy motorcyclist suffers serious injuries after he is struck by a semi.  The Adams County Sheriff’s Office responded to US 24 just north of Einhaus Lane at 12:15 Saturday afternoon.

Deputies say 53 year-old Talmadge Brenner was riding his 1953 Vincent Rapide on Highway 24.  Brenner was waiting to make a left turn into a private drive when his bike was clipped from behind by a northbound semi.  The semi was driven by 25 year-old Anthony Grizzle of Standard City, Illinois.

The semi swerved into the oncoming lane after the collision, forcing a southbound vehicle driven by Jason Shaw into a ditch.

Both Brenner and Shaw went to Blessing Hospital.  Brenner's injuries are termed serious. The extent of Shaw's injuries was not listed in the Sheriff's Office report.

Grizzle was arrested for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
