The president of the University of Missouri System has a message. And, he brought that message to northeast Missouri Tuesday.
Tim Wolfe spoke with middle school students in Palmyra and Hannibal as part of his Show Me Value Tour.

Wolfe’s message is to counter the perception that a college education is not as valuable as it once was.

Wolfe says that statistics show that a worker with a college degree will make $1.6 million dollars more over their working lifetime, or about $540 per week than someone without a degree.

Another way to encourage students to attend college, according to Wolfe, is for Mizzou to keep the cost of college as low as possible…

Wolfe says eight out of ten students in the Mizzou system get some kind of financial assistance to further their education.
