Unclaimed Property Auctioned

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - State Treasurer Dan Rutherford is calling his office's online unclaimed property auction a success. Rutherford says the seven-day auction sold more than 14,500 items, which is a 99 percent success rate. He says the rightful owners of the property auctioned off haven't come forward to claim their items in more than five years.
