Two in Custody Following Pike County Pursuit
Two Kansas residents who allegedly stole food from a convenience store are in custody in Pike County, Illinois after leading authorities on a two-state chase.
A Bowling Green business reported the theft around noon Monday. Bowling Green police tried to stop the suspects’ vehicle, but the driver took off. Pike County Sheriff Stephen Korte says his department joined the chase and that the suspect vehicle crossed into Illlinois at Louisiana. The pursuit ended a short time later on a dead end road near the Sny Levee north of Pike Station.
Korte says the vehicle was reported stolen in Kansas City and allegedly had plates reported stolen Monday morning from a parked vehicle in Ralls County. Authorities have not identified the arrestees.
