Two Hannibal Floodgates Go In

At least two of Hannibal’s flood gates will be set today.

Hannibal Emergency Management Director John Hark says flood gates will be installed at Hill and Center streets today. Hark says it will be determined at that time if the remainder of Hannibal’s flood gates will be set.

The Mississippi at Hannibal is at 19.99 feet this morning with a crest expected Thursday at 21.1 feet.

At Quincy… the river is at 19.74 feet. A crest is expected at 20.9 feet late next Sunday night.

At Canton… 17.23 is the river stage this morning with a crest expected late Sunday at 18.2 feet.
