Authorities believe drugs and alcohol may have been contributing factors in the deaths of a man and woman found floating in an above-ground swimming pool in eastern Missouri.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the victims were identified Tuesday as Matthew Kissee and his girlfriend, Davina Crane, both 36. They lived together near Pevely in Jefferson County.

A neighbor found the bodies about 9 p.m. Friday. Authorities believe they had been dead since late Thursday or Friday morning.

Toxicology tests are pending.
