Authorities say two people have been charged in connection with a body found last month in southwest Missouri.

The Joplin Globe reports that charges of abandonment of a corpse have been filed against 35-year-old Derek L. Reeves, of Noel, and 38-year-old Brandy S. House of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

David Kenney, Neosho police chief, says both defendants are in custody. Online court records don't list lawyers for Reeves or House.

The body was found Oct. 28 wrapped in what appeared to be a camping tent in rural McDonald County. The victim's identity and cause of death haven't been released.

Kennedy says the case is being investigated as a homicide.
