Authorities Believe Husband Pulled Trigger in Murder-Suicide

(Maywood, Mo)–Authorities in rural Marion County in northeast Missouri think 67-year-old David Lavingon shot his wife to death, then used the same weapon to commit suicide.

Sheriff’s officials are treating his death and that of 59-year-old Kathy Lavingon as a murder-suicide. Their bodies were found last Sunday in a bed at their home near Maywood, though authorities think they may have been dead since Christmas night. Both had been shot in the chest, though the investigation determined the husband was the shooter. Authorities say they still don’t know what the motive was.
