Two Arrested in Hannibal for Sodomy and Child Endangerment

Two Hannibal residents face charges following arrests for statutory sodomy and child endangerment.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office Sunday filed charges of statutory sodomy against Patrick Smith and child endangerment charges against Sandra Sherman. Court documents say Smith allegedly had deviate sexual intercourse with Sherman’s daughter and had cell phone video portraying inappropriate acts with the child. Smith faces three life sentences if convicted. Sherman faces up to seven years in the Department of Corrections if convicted on the child abuse charges. Smith is held in the Marion County Jail on a $100,000 cash only bond. Sherman’s bond is $25,000 cash or surety. Court appearances by video are scheduled Friday.
