A three-day trial is set to begin April 22 in Pike County, Missouri for a suspect who allegedly stabbed a Hannibal man at a party in Monroe City.

21-year-old Nathaniel Beauchamp of Mexico, Missouri is charged with felony assault and armed criminal action. He’s accused of stabbing a Hannibal man during a New Year’s party in Monroe City on January 1 of 2013.

The suspect allegedly told police he was being intimidated by at least 20 men and used a pocket knife in self-defense to stab an assailant. The victim had a wound to the left side near his stomach.

The case was moved to Pike County on a change of venue. A pre-trial hearing is January 21.
