Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges for Kansas City Man
A traffic stop late Sunday afternoon on I-72 in Scott County results in a drug related arrest.
Illinois State Police say a car driven by 23-year-old Zachary Squiers of Kansas City was stopped after being clocked doing 95 miles per hour in a 70 miles per hour zone.
Troopers say they noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the car turned up a loaded 9 millimeter hand gun, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Squiers was arrested and taken to the Pike County Jail in Pittsfield. He is charged with unlawful use of a weapon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.
