Over 1,100 children benefited from the recently completed 2016 Toys for Tots program.

In a press release, local sponsors Douglass Community Services and Hannibal Parks and Recreation report nearly 500 families in six northeast Missouri counties were served in this year’s program.

Along with the toys collected for the program, almost $20,000 was raised for the campaign to help in the purchase of toys.

The purpose of the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute them as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community.
