You either love them or you hate them but hot dogs are still pretty popular in America and the world. I don't quite know what it is, but a hot dog always seems to taste better at the ball park. Perhaps its the atmosphere or maybe just being outdoors that makes it so.  I bring this up because tomorrow is the day that many restaurants offer specials on hot dogs despite the fact that National Hot Dog Day in America was already held on July 14.

The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council designated July 14 as the big day this year, but many restaurants elected to stay with July 23, the day that it has National Hot Dog Day for years. Nationally, Burger King recently added hot dogs to their menus and will sell hot dogs for just a dollar on Saturday.

In my opinion, the best kind of hot dog is one with sauerkraut and mustard with some relish.  As a kid, I remember walking down the streets of New York and the Hot Dog Man would be on the corner with his hot dog cart and umbrella up serving up steaming hot "dogs" that have been soaking in boiling water.

Be it at the ballpark, where I don't even have to be hungry to buy one, or in my own home, the hot dog is always a delicacy for me.
