Quincy Community Theatre is ringing in the holiday season with sparkle and shine as it opens the Box Office November 2 for THE WINTER WONDERETTES, a retro holiday musical featuring over 20 classic Christmas tunes.

Opening the day after Thanksgiving, THE WINTER WONDETTES transports audiences to the year 1968 for the Harper’s Hardware holiday party hosted by the female singing group, The Wonderettes. Good spirits abound as the ladies dazzle the crowd—that is, until the boss doesn’t show up with the bonus checks. Using their talent and ingenuity, The Wonderettes sing tight-knit harmonies of great holiday songs such as “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” and “Santa Baby” to restore the Christmas cheer and save the festivities! Putting a vibrant 1960’s spin on the greatest holiday tunes of our time, these superb vocalists create an unforgettable evening that “crackles with energy and joy” (LA Weekly) and “is a sugar plum delight for audiences of all ages” (Backstage). Combine these Christmas classics with the show’s Mad Men-era scenic and costume design, and you’ve got a dynamic production with something for all ages.

THE WINTER WONDERETTES stars Kristen Houston as “Suzy,” Amy Looten as “Betty Jean,” Tina Moyer as “Cindy Lou,” and Kathy Roderick as “Missy.” This joyful evening of song and dance is directed by Artistic Director Brandon Thomsen, with music direction by Dr. H. Todd Evans, choreography by Mindy Holthaus and Drew Quintero, scenic design by Technical Director Paul Denckla, and costume design by Susan Scholz and Terri Stutheit. Doris Malacarne serves as the stage manager.
