Three Quincyans face drug charges following a traffic stop Monday night near 8th and Madison in Quincy.
The traffic stop results from an investigation by West Central Illinois Task Force agents and Adams County Sheriff’s deputies. Task force agents say the driver—a 17 year old juvenile and 20 year old Kerry Talburt of Quincy were arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana. Authorities say 37 year old Zana Owsley approached officers at the scene and was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear. Owsley was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The juvenile was released to a parent pending charges. Talburt and Owsley were taken to the Adams County Jail. A search of Talburt’s residence at 1005½ Jersey yielded marijuana, edible marijuana products and drug paraphernalia. Talburt is charged with marijuana trafficking and unlawful possession of 2,000 to 5,000 grams of marijuana.
