Three Charged Following Attempted Adams CO Jail Escape

The three Adams County Jail inmates who attacked a corrections officer and tried to escape were charged Thursday.
19-year-old Cobretti Matlick, 24-year-old Nicholas Ray and 23-year-old Jason Keller were all charged with conspiracy aggravated kidnapping, attempted aggravated kidnapping, attempted escape and conspiracy escape.

Matlick is also charged with aggravated battery.

Adams County Sheriff Brent Fischer says an investigation revealed that the three allegedly made homemade weapons and planned to take a hostage and escape.

Matlick and Ray will appear in court August 5th. Keller’s next court appearance is August 6.
