Things to Do in Hannibal: Swim Meet, Gallery Walk, Poetry Out LOUD

Swimming and poetry competitions, along with the monthly gallery walk are among the things to do in Hannibal in the coming days.

A check of the Hannibal Convention and Visitors Bureau's calendar shows the annual Tom & Becky Swim Invitational taking place beginning today (Fri., Feb. 7) at the Hannibal YMCA, with area swimmers competing in a variety of events.

What has become a monthly tradition in downtown Hannibal is the Second Saturday Gallery Walk. The art galleries in the Main Street historic district will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Special guest artists will be on hand, along with food and prize drawings.

Then, on Tuesday, Feb. 11, the Hannibal Arts Council hosts Poetry Out LOUD, with area schools taking part in slam poetry, spoken word and theatre competitions.
