Clemens Field was home to minor league baseball in 1947 and 1948 in the Central Association and from 1952 through 1955 in the Mississippi-Ohio Valley League.
Both leagues were forerunners the present day Midwest League. Both leagues also operated from time to time in locations later used by the Central Illinois Collegiate League and the Prospect League.  A search through the Baseball-Reference.com website turns up names of several recognizable major leaguers who likely came through Clemens Field on their way to the bigs. This listing doesn’t include everyone who made it into the major leagues, but it does hit the high points…
