More than 20 people in the southeast Missouri town of Poplar Bluff are expected to face charges after a sting involving several police agencies.

The Poplar Bluff Daily American Republic reports members of the multiagency Street Crimes Task Force converged on Poplar Bluff on Friday. The task force is made up of officers from Cape Girardeau, Poplar Bluff, Sikeston and Charleston.

In addition to about two dozen arrests, a suspected methamphetamine lab was taken down, a sawed-off shotgun was seized and what police characterized as a substantial amount of heroin was collected.
