Spring is a time of cleaning for many. Hopefully some of those "many" are in 3 Missouri cities that were just listed among the 100 most filthy places in America.
I am not an environmentalist, but I do love Missouri's many rivers. That's why it makes me sad to be the messenger that a new 2024 ranking has one of the mightiest that also happens to be one of the most polluted in America and there's no realistic way to save it now.
This will likely make the people that know me laugh, but I'm not exactly an expert on hygiene. That's why it's a bit odd that I am the messenger of what has been revealed as Missouri's most filthy and dirty city. Spoiler Alert - It's NOT St. Louis.
I've always thought that the air quality in Missouri was decent and it looks like the experts agree - for the most part. While most of the Show Me State gets passing grades for air quality, the same can't be said for St. Louis which flunked miserably.

Broadway Street in Quincy, IL is a perfect example of "Visual Pollution" and it is my opinion that this visual pollution is one of the main reasons why business is slow to grow along the busiest street in the whole of the Tri-States.
Illinois environmental authorities are preparing a strategic action plan to reduce the amount of nitrogen and phosphorous in the state's rivers and lakes.
