SUV and Semi Collision on I-72 Kills a Hannibal Woman [UPDATE]

A Hannibal woman is dead following a collision involving her SUV and a semi on I-72 near Barry at 5:28 Thursday afternoon.

Illinois State Police say a westbound semi driven by 27-year-old Jesus Gonzalez of Edinburg, Texas changed lanes and collided with the SUV driven by 59-year-old Joyce Miller-Boren of Hannibal.

The police report says Gonzalez did not see the SUV in the left lane as he changed lanes. Troopers say Miller-Boren sustained fatal injuries. Gonzalez is charged with improper lane usage.
